Un espectáculo sobre Marguerite Porete (1250-1310), la mística medieval que murió quemada por defender su libro “El espejo de las almas simples”. Pertenecía a las beguinas, las primeras comunidades libres de mujeres.
El espectáculo es una aproximación a la vida y obra de la mística medieval francesa Marguerite Porete interpretada por la actriz Gisela Figueras, el cantante Víctor Sordo y con las prestigiosas Cristina Alís al órgano portativo y María de Mingo a la cítola medieval.
Marguerite Porete fue beguina, un movimiento religioso femenino surgido a finales del siglo XII en Europa. Estas mujeres llevavan una vida de fe, a menudo en comunidad, pero no dependían de ninguna autoridad eclesiástica. Porete escribió un libro místico que tuvo mucha difusión: “El espejo de las almas simples”. La obra fue condenada por herejía por la Inquisición y llevó a su autora a la hoguera el año 1310.

L’espectacle és una aproximació a la vida i l’obra de la mística medieval francesa Marguerite Porete interpretada per l’actriu Gisela Figueras, el cantant Víctor Sordo i amb les prestigioses Cristina Alís a l’orgue portatiu i María de Mingo a la cítola medieval.
Marguerite Porete va ser beguina, un moviment religiós femení sorgit a finals del segle XII a Europa. Les beguines eren dones que duien una vida de fe, sovint en comunitat, però que no depenien de cap autoritat eclesiàstica. Porete va escriure un llibre místic que va tenir molta difusió “El mirall de les ànimes senzilles”. L’obra va ser condemnada per la Inquisición i va portar Marguerite Porete a la foguera. L’autora va ser cremada a París el 1310.

A play with live music about Marguerite Porete (1250-1310), the medieval mystic who was burned to death for defending her book “The Mirror of Simple Souls”. She belonged to the Beguines, the first free communities of women.
The show is an approach to the life and work of the medieval French mystic Marguerite Porete performed by the actress Gisela Figueras, the singer Víctor Sordo, and with the prestigious Cristina Alís on the portative organ and María de Mingo on the medieval citole.
Marguerite Porete was a beguine, a female religious movement that arose at the end of the 12th century in Europe. These women led a life of faith, often in community, but were not dependent on any ecclesiastical authority. Porete wrote a mystical book that was widely circulated: “The Mirror of Simple Souls”. The work was condemned for heresy by the Inquisition and its author was burned at the stake in 1310.
