Landini vs Machaut, a medieval duel!

Francesco Landini and Guillaume de Machaut are linked to the portative organ performance practice. At the same time they are very relevant figures of the 14^th century who wrote magnificent masterworks of polyphony.

Therefor in the course we will work on their polyphonic compositions and on questions on performance practice of the portative organ. The course is open to any enthusiast for medieval music both beginner or advanced: beginners will receive basic portative organ technique, while advanced students will enter in the pieces’s style in detail and improve their technique.

In this two-weekend course (possibility of one weekend only too) space will be given for :

Ensemble lesson
Individual lessons (4 lessons of 45 min each)
Practice time with a portative organ

Instrument rent

There will be instruments for rent for the students who do not own an instrument.
