La chanson d’amour monodique française au XIVe siècle

04/05/2019 — Performance

With the french title La chanson d’amour monodique française au XIVe siècle probably many imagine some of the names of the 14th-century French milieu. Although they have always been studied separately, the corpus of monodic works by Jehan de Lescurel, Roman de Fauvel, and Guillaume de Machaut belong to the same genre. To approach them as such makes it possible to re-establish them in the long tradition of medieval lyric poetry. Although we perceive the 14th century as essentially polyphonic, the monophonic repertoire is much more predominant than it seems for its quality and quantity.

La Douce Semblance is directed by Brice Duisit.

Coming concert: 26th of May 2019 in Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert.
