La chanson d’amour monodique française au XIVe siècle
Although they have always been studied separately, the corpus of monodic works by Jehan de Lescurel, Roman de Fauvel, and Guillaume de Machaut belong to the same genre. To approach them as such makes it possible to re-establish them in the long tradition of medieval lyric poetry and to measure how much this place is preponderant in the musical universe of a 14th century that we perceive as essentially polyphonic.
